Premature tablet enclosure failure due to poorly configured network switch

Note that this problem can be invisible to the end user. So if you are seeing premature failures on enclosures, take this opportunity to validate the network switch is properly setup.

Signs of improperly configured network switch:

  1. The battery logo on the tablet cycles between charging and not charging

  2. The network switch CLI (with "terminal monitor" enabled) shows errors with the particular port. Ex: power denied, power surge, etc. A good setting should show "power granted" not followed by any power related error messages.
